The Neonatal Resuscitation Program® (NRP®) course conveys an evidence-based approach to care of the newborn at birth and facilitates effective team-based care for healthcare professionals who care for newborns at the time of delivery. This course content delivers curricula for Essentials Providers, which is appropriate for everyone involved in the care of a newborn and who may be called upon to initiate resuscitation including positive pressure ventilation.

This class is taught in two parts. Part one consists of an online learning module.  The second, is a hands on live class with no more than 5 participants. The hands on session is taught by a NRP certified instructor with experience in Neonatal emergencies. 

As of January 1st 2022 all NRP courses must be taught with 8th Edition course materials. Student's need to have an 8th Edition course text book to participate.  Text books are available for check out at Guest Services in the hospital main lobby. It is the student's resposibility to ensure they are given the appropriate text. 

Note per the AHA, AAP and St. Vincent's policy the training center has 20 days to issue course completion cards. Please let us know if you do not get your card within 20 days of your course. 

If you are an SVH associate and NRP is required for your job descripton  - you are responsible for sending a physical copy of your NRP certification card to Human Resources at SVH. This information is not sent to them automatically.
